Simao Sabrosa To Sign For Arsenal?
Just a quick one...reports are suggesting that we have made an offer for the 26-year-old who has been tipped to leave Benfica for some time now. He almost signed for Liverpool last season on a £10 million deal but that was finally turned down by his club Benifica.
It has been reported that we have whipped out an offer of £12.3million for the player who is rated as a top class winger. If these reports are confirmed I will write more on him and his abilities as well as what he can add to our team. However this may just be "a couple days before the opening of the season" speculation. More on it as I get it. Enjoy the first ever game at our new stadium today against Villa...im backing us to win...with Ashley Cole Left Back....In the changing rooms....

Whether or not the story is true, he'll be a good replacement for the likely-to-be-departing reyes. and wenger did say that he hoped to make one or two more top class signings.
This story was out days ago, now we're also meant to have put a £16m bid in for Mascherano. Can't see them both coming even if Reyes does go. We need a defender and a replacement for Reyes.
u will get neither....Arsenal have massive debts due to the stadium. Anyone expecting 'chelsea' style signings will as ever be disappointed.
Sabrosa is Reyes with a more determined attitude & far more guile but perhaps not quite as much raw talent. His signing, IMO, would be like when we lost Anelka but then signed Henry instead.
It really would be beneficial to bring someone in who can instantly provide the extra width that all the Highbury era squad players seem to be afraid of using at Emirates, though.
Anyway, having said all that, I hope I'm wrong but while I'd love to see both Mascherano & Sabrosa sign up I just can't see either deal happening.

Usually that means £20/£30M deals.... I agree we won't get either, but that would be more to do with Arséne being a tight wad and preferring to dig up nobodies for £500K-£2M and turn them into stars. Chelsea have done that with....er..... Oh yes. They haven't.
Just sign someone who isn't afraid to shoot!!!!
