Arsenal have paid Sao Paulo £3.4m for 18-year-old midfielder Denilson, acccording to Denilson’s club Sao Paulo.
Denilson has made 12 appearances for Sao Paulo and is captain of the Brazil Under-19 team.
“Arsenal has paid US$6.5m (£3.4m) to sign the Sao Paulo player,” is what Denilson’s club had to say on its website.
The deal for Denilson is subject to international clearance and it has been reported the player will be loaned to a smaller club to gain experience.
