Alexander Hleb has been ruled out of our match at Newcastle on Wednesday.
He has an Achilles problem and the hamstring injury he had previously flared up again also. It is a huge blow with Cesc, Van Persie, Diaby all out as well. We have plenty of cover in midfield to make up the numbers but there is no doubt the quality of Hleb’s attacking form right now will be missed if he doesn’t make it on Wednesday.
Weger said: “My worry at the moment is that we lose players in every game, I hope we’ll get them back soon.”
Wenger may decide to stick to a 4-4-2 in Hlebs absense…with Eboue occupying the right side of midfield…and either Walcott or Eduardo up front. Or he may go with Flamini, Diarra and Gilberto or Denilson and stick Adebayor up front on his own.
Any news on this will be up here soon.
