Can Somebody Tell Me Why Israel Is In The European Championships? Egypt & Iran In It Next Year?

Good day all. This is a much delayed post and I do apologize for its irrelevance in life at the moment but I have just been thinking for a bit of time about the reasoning behind Israel being in the actual European Championships. Here is a map of where Israel is compared with the rest of Europe:

Now please don’t think that this is any sort of racial slur, or me trying to show any disrespect to any nation but I am very curious to see what people’s views are on this and also if somebody could enlighten my ignorant mind on this matter. Surely if Israel is playing in the European Championship qualifiers, you might as well chuck in Iran and Iraq to the reckoning as well...

I'm sure this may bring up a debate on Turkey also, as Turkey is half in Europe and half in Asia, but it is common knowledge that Israel is quite literally nowhere near being part of Europe. If you look at the map, we may want to consider Egypt for the next competition because they too have some very talented players and are "close enough" to Europe I guess?

The main reason I have posted this is for the reason already said that I am interested to see people’s views and hopefully I can be told what the reasoning is behind their inclusion, but at the same time I obviously do have my own personal view on this matter. I think we are living in an evil world which is brightened up by the world of football and perhaps by Israel playing in this competition it brings happiness to a depressed and traumatised region. Please do keep your comment to an intelligent level and no racism or anything of the sort will be tolerated.

God Bless Israel.
