It has been reported that Valencia star David Villa wants to join his Spanish team mate Cesc Fabregas at Arsenal. In a recent interview he said:

"I watch the Premier League a lot and the team I'm most attracted to is definitely Arsenal.

Their brilliant one and two-touch football and the whole style of rapid counter-attack which dominates the top level of the Premier League now is the one which suits my game best of all.

I think I'm made to succeed in England but of course it's one thing saying it and quite another getting there and then doing it.

The Valencia president always told me he wouldn't sell me until summer 2008. If an offer comes in I'm hungry to test myself in England.”

David Villa is a fantastic player and with Valencia struggling in the Spanish league he may look for a move in the summer. However the real question is whether Wenger would ever pay (an estimated) £20 million for anyone, regardless of his proven ability.

Only time will tell...

What's the point in him being interested in playing for us?

Wenger will never spend £20million to get him. He's too tight for that!

Why Wenger is so tight is the money comes out of his pocket, can someone advise him Arsenal is the better team but we don't understand why we are not winning anything, but by saying that deep down is because Wenger is not buying experience players is not fair to the FUNS and players seeing the team going all the way to 28 games leading the table then at the end coming 3rd is not good. to cut the complain short Wenger he need to buy player.

wenger is well stingy man
for once i wud love a big player at arsenal but i doubt it as his big-money signings(jeffers and reyes)have let him down

some of his kids have underperformed too

this time wenger is determined for atleast one big transfer. spending big money is not the problem for wenger but the salary restriction at arsenal(by arsenal board) is the main problem for signing the big players. last year robinho was a done deal but salary negotiation failed. hope the same will not happen this time in case of david villa.

i do hope he is able to bring in david villa. he is the kind of player we need in Arsenal. a villa and adebayor pair or vill and van persie would wreck havoc. i appeal to wenger on my knees to please go for david villa please and stop making hi usual excuses when another team buys him cos wenger is fond of saying he was supposed to buy a player in the past. he said that of berbatov, ronaldo and torres. villa for arsenal

Arsenal are in need of experienced and proven players, David Villa is a player that will continually cause defenders problems and scores goals. He will add a great amount of quality to arsenal and I believe his interest in the team, the recommendation from Fabregas and the lack of trophies the team has won in the past few years should convince Wenger to try and make him a part of the club. I understand the importance of youth at arsenal but without the presence of more experienced players to help develop and lead the young players arsenal will never be able to reach the potential that everybody talks about. It is vital that the team keeps as many of its current players as possible and brings in a few well known signings (Who are not too young) to round of the team.
