De La Hoya and Floyd Mayweather To Fight Again?

By Bilal Zaidi

For any of our boxing fans there is some news relating to the potential up-coming fight between Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather aka Pretty Boy and Oscar De La Hoya. Their last fight on May 5th 2007 was classed as a “super fight” which went down in history as the most lucrative fight in boxing history with $120 million generated in revenue, beating the record set a few years earlier by Mike Tyson and Lennox Lewis.

The re-match seems to be shaping up to be another hell of a bout after Mayweather swept aside Ricky Hatton in December. Now...two fighters, already legends in the sport have inevitably found each other again for a long awaited rematch. This promises to be another huge occasion. The last time these two gladiators met, Floyd managed to squeeze out a victory when he won on a split decision.

The management on Mayweather’s side seem to think it is pretty much a done deal and a date has been set for around September 13th to September 20th this year. These two class acts have provided us with some fantastic entertainment over the span of their careers and I hope that the coming fight will live up to the expectation of the fans from around the world.

Set your reminders, mark your calendars for another super fight: September 13th to 20th.
If anybody is interested in getting tickets for this event you can purchase Mayweather vs De La Hoya tickets.

The last fight was a bore, Mayweather didnt really do anything and De La Hoya tired badly after forcing the fight. Not sure what to expect from a rematch, considering De La Hoya is a year older and hasn't fought (to my knowledge...someone correct me if Im wrong) since losing to Mayweather. Will the fans go and see it in droves again? I have my doubts

Long awaited rematch? What are you talkin about? no1 wants to see this, would much rather see Oscar retire and not embarrass his great career further, and see mayweather fight someone who accualy has a chance of winning (hatton didnt, only britan thought he did) like Cotto or Margarito. Or change weight at go at Kelly Pavlik. That would be something worth while, but Floyd vs Oscar is not worth paying PPV.
