Pat’s The Way To Do It

Rumours have been surfacing this past week that Patrick Vieira could be making a shock return to the red and white army, with Wenger  mulling over bringing the big man back to the Premier League, having fallen out of favour at Inter. Although Arsene is not a fan of bringing former players back to the club. I for one would welcome this happening.

We all know that Vieira’s form has deteriorated since leaving Arsenal in 2005 and stats show that for Inter Milan last season, appearances were few and far between, bearing in mind injuries have played their part in that. People will point to the fact that Vieira is injury prone and at 33 isn’t getting any younger and although that can’t be discarded, just having his presence around the dressing room would be a boost indeed and with all his experience a great mentor to the promising youngsters coming through the ranks.

Who knows, if Patrick does return and don the Arsenal crown once more it may lift his game a little. That rejuvenated desire to win back possession, that extra yard of pace to make the odd charging run which earnt him so many plaudits first time round.

They say we never replaced the former captain since his departure, so why not bring him back? Whether that be alongside Cesc, warming the bench or simply having him around the place.  I know what I want to be singing.
Vieira woooooooaaaaa…… you know the rest.
